How a Muslim from Dhaka and an atheist from New Zealand formed a friendship and then a business with the strong belief that we can help others less fortunate than ourselves.
Initially I hired Reon as a designer for my other company. After a couple of weeks working together I realised we had a lot in common despite the huge differences in our lives and over the past 2 years we have shared ideas on life, and music, we are both huge movie buffs, and of course…design.
I learned a lot from Reon, not least humility, grace and the great ability to be thankful for what you have. After a couple of weeks I offered Reon a full time salary and he accepted. At some stage we begun talking about businesses and families, dreams and goals and we started discussing working together.
When I asked Reon what he was doing with his money I found out he was feeding the less fortunate. He was buying bulk food and feeding orphans and old people unable to look after themselves.
At this stage I knew I wanted to be a part of his journey, I had a family, a home, a business, it was time to give back and I was fortunate enough to have the means to help make that happen.
SEON Agency was born and now we put a portion of every job into buying food for people that are struggling to feed themselves. To be completely honest, I used to wonder why people have children when they can’t afford to feed them but whichever way you look at this, it isn’t the kids fault that they were born into poverty.
